A. I have been a member of CAI for 30+ years. I began my career in the association management industry, and manager member of CAI. Changed careers 10 years ago, now in the specialized association banking industry as a business partner member.

Q. Why did you join CAI?
A. Originally joined as an employee of a management company, volunteered in different committees and took advantage of the education and networking opportunities that CAI has to offer. Obtained several professional designations which include: PCAM, AMS, and CMCA. I am now a business partner member and enjoy the networking events and opportunities for business development in my current position.

What is your current occupation?
A. Senior Vice President with Alliance Association Bank, specializing in association banking services. Business development in the Southern Texas region, including Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.

Q. What do you love most about your industry?
A. The knowledge, education and prestigious professional designations CAI offered my career. As a business partner, gaining business and networking with my colleagues and associates in the industry. Since I am now servicing management companies, I get great satisfaction on helping management companies become more efficient and helping them grow their companies through the services we have to offer. It‘s a lot of fun working with them, because I know understand their business and understand their needs. Of course, I also enjoy the chapter events both local and National and the ability to continually learn more as the industry continues to evolve.

Q. How have you adapted your business model to COVID-19 to work alongside your clients during this time?
A. Adapting by new communications through ZOOM, TEAM and other network type meetings. Providing DEMOs and training for my clients and presentations for potential clients. But I do hope to get back to visiting clients in person soon in the near future, as I do miss that a lot!

Q. What's something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
A. I am from N.J. originally, moved to Florida with family when I was 14 years old. Lived on a family farm for a few years in Florida. Horseback riding is one of my favorite memories back then. My dad, an Englishmen, who grew up on a farm as a kid, taught us kids how to ride and jump horses. We road bareback most of the time. My dad was always very health conscious, he‘s 92 years old now, and now rides an adult tricycle around his neighborhood in Florida. When we were kids growing up in N.J., he would pay us kids a penny a lap, to jog around our big back yard. We would jog 25 or more times around, take the money we made, and buy a bag full of penny candy! I had a great childhood with 5 other siblings and fun parents! Most folks do not know, I have a twin sister.

Q. If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A. Spaghetti, spaghetti, spaghetti!!!

Q. How do you define success?
A. Not letting failure get you down. Keep striving to be better.

Q. Who inspires you?
A. Elisabeth Elliott – was a Christian author and speaker, with the strongest faith in God a human could ever have
